　　为表达全国各族人民对甘肃舟曲特大山洪泥石流遇难同胞的深切哀悼，国务院决定，2010年8月15日举行全国哀悼活动，全国和驻外使领馆下半旗志哀，停止公共娱乐活动。那么，“全国哀悼日”英语该怎么说呢？

　　我们先看新华社的报道：

　　China declared Sunday as the national day of mourning for mudslide victims in Zhouqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture.

　　从上句中我们可以看到，“全国哀悼日”的英语就是“the national day of mourning”。在今天，也会有默哀仪式，比如说：

　　Chinese President Hu Jintao paid a silent tribute here to victims of a massive mudslide in Zhouqu County.

　　上文中的“pay a silent tribute”就是“默哀”的意思。

　　今天，在tiananmen广场也进行了降半旗(fly a flag at half-mast)的仪式，对丧生于泥石流的遇难者表示深切哀悼。
