April 16, 2010 - Sales of the Nintendo's enlarged handheld, the DSi XL, is off to a good start in the U.S.
According to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter, the DSi XL sold 141,000 units in the U.S. during its debut week. The DSi XL was released on March 28 in North America. NPD's March data was tracked through April 3, and traditionally does not include separate sales data for each version of the handheld.
Total sales on all DS hardware reached over 700,000 units in the U.S. during March, according to NPD.
The DSi XL is joined by two other Nintendo handhelds currently on the market, the DS Lite and the DSi. The company recently announced yet another version of its handheld, the 3DS, which it plans to unveil at this year's E3 in June. |
